Blame it on Marni — funky, chunky necklaces are here to stay. How to make them last into fall? Ditch the colorful, wooden beads and pick yourself up a string of kukui nuts — the deeply hued black or brown strands you’re seeing nonstop on celebs like Jessica Simpson, Nicole Ritchie, and Vanessa Carlton. Usually strung on ribbon, these are actually sort of like leis (only way cooler) — turns out kukui nuts are the official symbol of the island of Molokai. Pick some up on your next jaunt to the islands, or save the plane fare and slather on some self tanner — we’ve found them on eBay!
