11:15 AM: Arrive at Twinkle by Wenlan show. So smart arriving 15 minutes late – these things never start on time.

11:17 AM Walk alllll the way around the block to get in line behind about 100 other red sole clad, Marc Jacobs bag tot’n fashion fans

11:35 Sigh

11:45 Sigh

11:55 Line starts moving alllriiiight!

12 PM: See huge pile of nifty canvas gift bags. PR girls are holding ten of them within my arm’s reach. “Can I have a bag?”
“On the way out.”
There are like 100 bags piled up so feel ok with this.

12:01 PM: Where are the seats?
12: 02 PM: Where’s the show?
12:03 PM: Notice 3 models stepping off of Design Within Reachish coffee tables. PR person hands them gift bags
12:05 PM: Say to PR person
“What happened? Where’s the Show?”
“The models had to go – they had another show to go to.”

12:07 PM: Huh? OK. Follow a group of dumbstruck fashion gals out the door. Others stay inside looking dumbstruck.
12:08 PM: Sorry no more gift bags.

I am a fan of Twinkle by Wenlan. As I flip through a fashion mag I frequently find the clothes I covet are creations by Taipei native and New York based Wenlan Chia. That’s why I gave up my Sunday morning (on my wedding anniversary no less) to hustle down to the West Village for her show, but….can someone at least send me a gift bag???
