Beauty Find: Ojon Five-Piece “Try Me” Hair Ritual Kit
You’ll know Ojon is different from other hair conditioners at first glance. It’s a semi-solid cream that smells unlike anything I’ve ever known before – sort of nutty, rather sweet and a tad smoky. Supposedly, Ojon is used by the Tawira Indians from the rainforests of Central America, where they are known as “the people of beautiful hair.” I’m not sure I buy that, since in every photo I’ve seen of Indian people from tropical areas, they always have long, silky, beautiful, black hair. So these people have especially nice hair or what? You rub the “hair rejuvenator,” made of Ojon palm nut oil, between your hands to melt it, apply from scalp to ends, leave on for 20 minutes then shampoo and condition. I performed the ritual once a week for four weeks, per the instructions in the “Try Me” kit, which also contains a leave-in conditioner and glosser. The first three times I didn’t notice a difference, but after the fourth time my hair was definitely softer. I may not buy the Ojon story, but I definitely plan on buying me some more of this stuff.
