Beauty Find: Urban Renewal

What: Nabi MedSpa (586 Columbus Avenue NYC) and Microdermabrasion treatments

Why: We’ve done a lot of glowing (sweating) this summer, mainly due to the wicked humidity and here in NYC, there are the perversely crowded subways. For a genuine, healthy glow, I seriously urge you to check out the brand spankin new Nabi MedSpa. Nabi means butterfly in Korean, and the transformative powers of the VibraDermabrasion facial definitely turned me from a sweaty old caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. My skin looked so good, my mother asked if I was pregnant. My visit began with a brief, painless skin analysis with the results displayed in six Warhol-esque images.

It is awesome to know exactly how many blackheads you have. The great part of this is the personalized treatment plan the incredibly knowledgeable staff create. I was thrilled to learn that sun damage is treatable. The products are so good, not just anyone can buy them. You have to have a certain medical license, which if you ask me just adds to the credibility of the Spa. They also have a highly experienced RN (registered nurse) full-time, which always makes me feel better when needles are involved.

image To best re-create my spa experience at home, I’ve found that the Lancôme RESURFACE-C MICRODERMABRASION ($85.00) kit works wonders. Just enough resurfacing to leave your face silky smooth without removing an entire layer of skin. My mother, sister and I have not stopped rubbing our cheeks.
