Slowly but surely, I’m seeing the merits of naturopathy and a chemical-free way of living. Although I highly doubt I’ll give up my thousands of dollars of makeup anytime soon, here’s one starting point: aspirin masks. OK, aspirins are chemicals, technically speaking. But they are naturally derived and they contain Beta Hydroxy Acids, known for their exfoliating properties. My skin was softer after using this mask and many people find the mask reduces skin redness and shrinks pimples. To make it, dissolve six tablets in one-half to one teaspoon of warm water. You may need to add more water (in drops) to achieve a spreadable consistency. You can also crush the tablets in a small bowl, then add the water. Spread the mask on your face (avoid the eye area) and let dry. It takes about 20 minutes. Then I hop in the shower to rinse. One thing I noticed is that the aspirin dust makes me sneeze as it dries. Consequently, it starts falling from my face like tiny snowflakes, making me sneeze more. But you can add a few drops of aloe vera or honey to prevent that. I’ll assume you know where to find the mask’s key ingredients
. But if the DIY route isn’t for you, you can find more great BHA products at Sephora.com
