We’ve reported on the skull trend. 68% of you told us you weren’t down with the bones. But that was in February when it was a handful of trendy starlets sporting skull scarves. The fashion fact is Mr. Bones with his fleshless face is not going anywhere but onto our shirts, jean pockets, in our earlobes, and adorning our shoes. Do we thank Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley of Pirates of the Caribbean for the continuing trend?
One of our favorite tee designers, Jib Hunt, has his own twist on the trend. Skulls are nothing new to skaters and snowboarders, they’ve been rocking the look for almost as long as Guns ‘N Roses fans. Find Jib Hunt’s t-shirts at Amazon.com or Karmaloop. Check out how famous he is and watch his appearance on Bravo. And another reason to buy his shirts- it could save you from ending up a skeleton yourself. Apparently the signature dog tags are more than a fashionable gimmick.
What Botkier ’s Skeleton hobo (eLuxury) lacks in face, it makes up for in ribs.
Target.com has plundered a pirate’s closet for their selection.
skull & roses tee

If you want to sport the skeletal look like the stars, (not via their lack of food, but via their closets) check out ASOS.com.

So sweet, the Betsey Johnson Skull & Crossbones Heart Pendant forgets to be scary. Also at Nordstrom is Karen Cantor’s tattoo-inspired skull ring
, necklace, and bracelet.
Inspired by Cantor’s tattoo jewelry we popped over to sailorjerry.com to see what high seas skulls they had. We found the Skull Fly Tattoo Husband Beater in pink and the Skull Dice Girlie Tee to be especially hip and up to our skull standards.
