Trend Alert: Bikini Style Gowns

A good friend of mine, who lives in Israel, sent me a picture of another friend’s wedding. The bride wore the coolest dress, a “bikini style.” Apparently, it’s the going trend there now. I hadn’t seen this in the West that I can recall. But, while researching for another article, what did I find? A bikini style evening gown. The dress generally consists of a bikini-type top, a bottom to conceal all the naughty bits with a sheer midriff. Is it an updated version of well-known Eastern styles, perhaps? Saris and belly dancing costumes come to mind. Although the bikini may be a tad risqué for traditional American nuptials, I hope it takes off in the States. It accentuates a woman’s curves beautifully. I don’t see the diet and fitness market collapsing anytime soon. But figures are decidedly fuller now than in years past. (None too soon in my opinion.)
