Trend Alert: Quilting Party

Quilted leather bags are a status symbol classic, and they always have been. Just think of the iconic to-die-for Chanel bag with the gold chain link and leather strap. Recently, favorite designer Marc Jacobs took a cue from this reserved look and bumped it up a little. His chain straps are exaggerated and the bags themselves are huge. Then there’s the quilted Balenciaga, which may just be the perfect mix between the original, and its updated version. It’s completely functional space-wise and better yet, maintains the classic prettiness. And apparently, Ashlee Simpson loves hers too. (via bglam.com)
