Harsh, cold and wet weather makes the idea of ‘exfoliating’ sound like a less than pleasant experience, but one that is more than necessary for any good skin care regimen. And we’ve got two new favorites as we suffer through climactic hell.
Well worth mentioning is Luisa New York’s “Sugar Scrub,” a scrumptious mix of dark brown sugar, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, raspberry seeds, and vitamin E. This stuff is heaven in an amber jar — it left my skin polished and exfoliated and, probably thanks to the oils, hydrated and smooth without becoming oily. It smelled so good that I was tempted to put it on ice cream, but was able to resist.
While we were at it, we also tested Luisa’s Green Tea Olive Oil Soap — which is perfection in a packaged bar, and my new favorite pick for winter cleansing. It left my skin soft, nourished and cleansed, and as a side benefit — was so rich that I could skip using other products while shaving my legs — this soap alone did the trick.
