Celebrity “It” Bag: Anne Hathaway’s Tory Burch T Tote

I’m definitely not what you’d call a jetsetter, but I can’t imagine leaving my house without a small arsenal of electronics, magazines, cosmetics, a wallet, a can of Diet Cherry Coke and my keys. Sure, those tiny only-holds-a-platinum-card-and-a-lipstick clutches are chic, but don’t starlets ever find the need to lug their stuff around like the rest of us? I know they have “people” for that, but it’s so refreshing to see Anne Hathaway’s bulging Tory Burch Patent T-Tote ($295).

Big bags got a bum rap ages ago when the nasty rumor that they made you look heavier started circulating, but look what the bright red tote does for Anne. It adds a punch of color to her sophisticated black ensemble, and it gives her major street cred: you know she’s not above schlepping around scripts or a Vogue or two, just like the rest of us.

Plus, Tory Burch’s logo is hot right now (anyone who’s been dancing around in her signature Reva ballet flats can tell you that much), and this perforated version has just the right amount of labelism. It’s not too loud, but it’s visible enough to say “luxury.” Look for the bag in Anne’s red, and also Honey Orange, Black or White patent leather.
