It would seem to me using the cup stops the natural flow of are cycle as well as creates an environment for bacteria to multiply. I use something called Winalite
they are a sanitary pad free of chemicals and synthetic materials. They have something called an anion strip embedded in every pad it is antibacterial and helps with numerous things. I recommend checking out the site it is full of helpful information.

Yeah, I’m so happy they’re getting so much exposure nowadays – it’s truly great! You can find your nearest store on http://www.divacup.com. I just can’t believe how this product has changed my life – it took me a while to get the technique right – the horizontal placement rather than up like a tampon, but it’s been soo worth it! Plus, the money I’m saving is great esp. for a college girl who needs her Starbucks!
