EcoChic: Laundry
If you’re one of our subscribers you’ve probably read this week’s newsletter on the EcoClean Home. (And if you haven’t, you should.) You don’t need harsh chemicals to clean your kitchen, bathroom, or floor, and you certainly don’t need them to clean your clothes. Most detergents are full of chemicals and junk. That doesn’t sound clean.
Give your luxe clothes the luxury treatment. La Compagnie de Provence Marseille’s liquid detergent is perfect for the most delicate delicates – even baby clothes. The natural cleansers won’t irritate the skin or nose. To infuse your delicates with a gentle floral scent, use Home Essencia’s delicate wash in the machine or the sink for hand washing.
Save money, water, and space in the landfill with Method’s 3x concentrated laundry detergent. Unlike most ‘ultra’ detergents, you really do only need a small capful to get a load clean. I love that this detergent works in regular machines and the ultra eco friendly High-Efficiency (HE) washers. For all you sensitive types, there’s also an unscented version.
Dryer sheets are very useful inventions, but they could use some improvement. I’m quite fond of Method’s dryer cloths because they’re infused with softener, don’t have that weird gummy residue, and can be used twice before you have to toss them. Already dealt with the softener in the washer? Then toss in a Sweet Grass Farm Laundry Sachet. It’ll keep the static away and infuse your clothes with a pleasant, natural scent.
Keeping clothes and linens smelling fresh between laundry days doesn’t require Febreeze. Sensory Fusion’s linen and room sprays work just as well and leave behind nothing but yummy scents. I particularly like Pomegranate.
