The best way to dress up a drab outfit? Accessories, of course. Wide and thin belts, opaque and textured tights, military and cabbie hats — this season your options are endless. Oh, and for all you glamour girls — gloves! Yes, it’s all about the little details this fall so don’t leave home without them. Here are the highlights:
Belts
Whether you’re looking to cinch your waist or add a splash of color, belts are the way to go. Gone are the days of hiding this staple. Wear them over your sweaters, jackets and high-waist pants. They even look good wrapped around a coat! Check out this look from PinkMascara.com. The belt is by Motif 56, which has a sensational selection. Get the Motif 56 Zara Stripe Belt on sale now for only $66.
Tights
Whoever said tights were for girls was oh-so-wrong. Opaque and textured tights are not only grown-up and stylish — like here when worn under this chic cheetah print dress by Madison Marcus ($310) — they’re practical. Our favorites are Spanx Two Timin' Reversible Tights Panty Hose ($32). They're great-fitting, comfortable and best of all, they are reversible (you must see it to believe it) so you get two pairs for the price of one.
Hats
Why should the guys have all the fun? Vintage-style hats (newsboy and military-inspired) are very much in vogue for the ladies. Just make sure the one you’re sporting has some special detailing like cute little buttons or a delicate bow like those shown below.
Gloves
Channel old for $68), you must get your hands on (and in) a pair.
