If you thought the Reva rage would calm down once the summer ended, think again. Tory Burch’s latest collection is now available on her website and it’s chock full o’ flats.
I can’t imagine there are many people who haven’t seen Tory’s Reva flats (or one of the many knock-off iterations of it). You know, the ballet flat with the signature gold buckle on the front. I am actually quite indifferent to the shoe. They’re cute and functional enough, but the elastic on the back always stopped me from buying a pair. That, and the fact that everyone has them.
And given Tory’s newest collection, the Reva flats are here to stay (for, at the very least, another season). I was glad to see her playing with new fabrics and textures, though, like houndstooth and calf-hair. I actually considered buying these Ines Pointed Quilted Ballet flats ($250) or these Reva Leopard Print Ballet
($225).
That is, until I saw these Sophie Snake Wedges ($295). At first I scrolled right past them thinking they were Reva, but on second look I realized they were a gorgeous—albeit gaudy—variation. I haven’t tried them on, so I don’t know how they feel, but they’ll look great with wide-leg trousers this fall. And because you can never have too many black pumps, I thought I’d also point out this patent leather Maddie Pump
($295) for a super sophisticated, yet sexy style. This one definitely has winter shoe staple potential.
