What: James Tom 5 Pocket Straight Leg Jeans in Poison

Why: I love jeans. In fact, I probably more than love them. I won’t admit to how many are in my closet, but I will tell you that I wear them all regularly. How? Once I find a brand or cut that’s perfect, I buy a pair in every wash and sometimes even two of the same color. Crazy, I know, but it works. This weekend I went on a bit of a denim binge, so as a sort of penance for blowing my budget I am sharing my find: James Tom 5 Pocket Straight Leg Jeans in Poison

I was first introduced to James Jeans back 2004 and the pleated pockets and flattering fit immediately hooked me. What I didn’t know then was that there was some science to it – the angled pocket and slight distressing trick the eye so your tush and thighs look totally toned. What’s not to love?

As if it could get any better, the latest James collection features jeans with this psychic spandex called T400. Now I never used to wear jeans with stretch in them because they always lost their shape the minute I crossed my legs or sat down. But I now own three pairs – all made with T400 – because somehow this fabric molds to your shape when you first put the jeans on and retains that shape wear after wear. I was skeptical at first, too, but after three days in these jeans I can honestly attest that they’re pretty amazing. No saggy butt, no gaping at the knee, nothing.

I happen to be fond of the dark straight legs because I think they’re the most versatile and polished, but there are several other options. Check out the entire collection here.

    I find that the sizing of James Jeans varies widely from cut to cut. The two cuts I have experience with are the James and the Hector. The James is a lower rise (8 inches) and the Hector is a higher rise (9 inches). I had to go a whole size higher with the James cut, they are cut very slim. For the Hector, I was able to get my regular size, and I still have plenty of room. So, the James cut is very slim (size up) the Hector fit is more loose.

    I wear a size 10 everywhere, I mean everywhere. But for the James cut, a size 30 – I could barely get it buttoned. Too small. A size 31 is what I have to get for the James cut, which is a very sexy butt boosting cut.

    For the Hector cut, a size 31 is huge on me. I have to get a 30. And like I said before, it is still roomy. I couldn’t go all the way down to a 29 though. The Hector cut is sexy, but not as sexy as the James cut.
