Fashion News: M by Madonna
What: Madonna’s New Clothing Line at H&M
Why: M is for Material Girl, Musican, Mother and Movie Actress. Now M also stands for “M by Madonna.” The singer and fashion trendsetter has just launched a new line of clothing through the Swedish retailer H&M. Co-designed with Margareta van den Bosch, pieces in the collection include kimono inspired dresses, skirts topped with belted tunics, cropped pants and jackets done in a palette of white, brown and black. The style is a reflection Madonna 2007 — simple, sleek and elegant. Accessories include high heels and handbags in black and this season’s must-have color, silver. The signature piece of the collection is a wrap trench coat in white. Worn by the singer in ads for the collection, it is being snapped up by fashionistas all over the globe. She has said that she, “wanted something casual but naughty, sensible but sexy. That’s me. That’s how I am. I wanted the collection to be for a working girl.” And with prices ranging from $16 to $295, Madonna’s style is truly meant for everyone.
