Dear Diary,
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of attending the Nili Lotan show with SheFinds founder (and my boss), Michelle. The event was sponsored by Mercury, so they sent one of the new SUVs – a Mariner, I believe – to pick us up at 5:30pm. Too bad the show wasn't slated to begin until 6:30pm and in the fashion world that means more like 7:30pm.
When we got to the venue, there was no line (thankfully!), but that's only because we were so early. They basically told us to walk around until the show started, but we opted to sit and wait instead (in the 4th row, of course, we had no pull). The crowd began to grow as the 7 o'clock hour passed and while we didn't spot any celebs, there were some pretty fabulously dressed editors and socialite-looking types in attendance. As we were eyeing everyone's patent accessories, the show began.
The collection was nice enough – lots of flowy fabrics like silk, chiffon and satin. There were lots of luxe-looking tunic-style tops and dresses, so rest assured that trend isn't going anywhere. She also threw in plunging necklines that immediately gave me visions of Paris Hilton on a yacht in St. Tropez. Overall, I would say the show was pretty good. I'm still not sure about that hour wait, though.
If you're unfamiliar with Nili, check out a few of our favorites from her current collection below.
Love,
SheFinds
PS: We weren't as lucky as the other Fashion Weekers. Our gifts bags were small little mesh sacks filled with mints and chocolate. Better luck next time, I guess.
