Feeling Flat? Oh…Deer Ballet Slippers Will Perk You Up
What: Oh…Deer Oz Ballet Flat, $120
Why: I can't get enough of ballet flats. They're cute, go equally well with jeans or a skirt, and always seem effortlessly chic. As much as I love them, however, I haven't had the best luck with comfort. Sure, after a few weeks of squished toes and blistered heels they start to conform to my foot, but my feet always pay for a fit that doesn't come until a later date.
So when I threw on a spanking new pair of Oh…Deer Oz Flats this Saturday afternoon, I was sure I'd be switching them out for something broken in within a few hours. Not a chance. These puppies kept me going all afternoon then stayed on for dinner and drinks that evening with nary a blister or bump in sight. What's their secret? Maybe it's the shoe's elastic backing, although I have others with the same feature that don't feel this way. Maybe it's the slightly wider round toe, although, again, I haven't noticed this making a difference on another pair I recently purchased.
Maybe it's just good shoe ju-ju for a company that spent over thirty years manufacturing comfortable footwear before turning to fashion. Regardless, these sparkly little slippers won't be spending much time in my closet soon. Thanks to this rare combination of comfort and style, I think I've got a new favorite pair of kicks.
