SheFinds Fragrance Week: Sugar Lemon by Fresh

What: Fresh Sugar Lemon Eau de Parfum Spray

Why: I’m not usually a fan of fragrances that smell like food — the goal is to get people to gravitate to you because of your sparkling wit and natural charm, not because your scent reminds them of Grandma’s kitchen or a their daily dose of double hazelnut mochachino with extra whip. Still, I’m glad I took a second whiff of Sugar Lemon.

The zesty citrus scent is perfect for spring: crisp, clean and with just the right mix of youthful elements (mandarin orange, lychee flower, caramel) and sophisticated ones (Italian bergamot, ginger flower, oak moss). It’s in no way overpowering or quaint (read: you won’t smell like you’ve been busting dust with Pledge all day, and your aroma won’t conjure images of old men drinking Country Time lemonade on the front stoop). It’s perfectly cosmopolitan without smelling like a cosmopolitan and its bright, sparkly notes provide a great pick-me-up with just one spritz.

Price: $65 for 3.4 oz and $22 for 1 oz.
