How to Keep Patent Leather Shoes Clean

image
Patent leather shoes are back and that means scuff marks are just a stroll away. Nothing can ruin the cutest pair of shiny ballerina flats like a big ‘ol streak across the toe. So how can you keep those new shoes looking spiffy and fresh all season long? Check out these easy tips and be sure to add yours in the comments section below.

1. Wipe shoes clean with a damp cloth and always remember to spot test before attempting to clean anything.

2. For faux patent leather, use acetone nail polish remover and a few cotton balls to clean up scuff marks making sure to avoid touching the solvent to any embellishments.

3. Real Simple recommends removing marks and shining leather shoes with vegetable oil. Vaseline is also good for giving shoes back their shine, but it won’t get rid of scuff marks.

How do you keep your shoes shiny? Tell us your tips and be sure to check out post on How to Stay Blister-Free.
