Oscar Beauty Buzz: Red-Carpet Dermatology

imageThe question isn’t so much if, but one of how much “work” celebrities have had done before strutting their stuff down the highly scrutinized red carpet. This thoroughly analyzed plastic surgery walk of shame for many celebrities has spawned a new trend known as “Red-Carpet Dermatology.” Thanks in no small part to websites like awfulplasticsurgery.com and TMZ.com which gleefully expose evidence of surgery, celebrities have begun to opt for procedures that are less invasive, which translates into being less noticeable in the pictures that will be publicly scrutinized in the coming weeks.

Some of the more popular procedures include Botox injections to the hands and armpits to reduce sweating, Botox injections to fill in fine lines, Restylane injections to plump the lips, and micrdermabrasion facials to leave the skin glowing and smooth.

imageFor the majority of us, the world isn’t interested in every inch of our face, but the results do sound tempting. Go for a milder transformation with non-invasive options, like Patricia Wexler M.D.’s Advanced Lip Plumper. If you don’t have the time to dash off to the spa for a last minute facial, I’ve found that the Lancôme RESURFACE-C MICRODERMABRASION ($85.00) kit works wonders.
You may love your new look so much, that photographs of you are mysteriously leaked onto YouTube…
