Grow Up! Who Still Wears Overalls?

I live in a neighborhood where most women know how to dress. In fact, more often than not, I end up feeling frumpy compared to the fashionistas flagging cabs in 4-inch Louboutins and Tory Burch frocks.

So I was more than surprised to see a fairly young, attractive woman wearing overalls walk by my local café. Yep, overalls—like the Osh-Gosh kind you had as a kid. They were brown corduroy, a little baggy, and looked absolutely horrendous.

Girls, what gives?  Who wakes up in the morning and thinks, today’s an overall day. Unless you’re doing structural work on your home, I can’t imagine a good reason to wear something like this. If you can’t keep your pants up, buy a belt; if you’re trying to cover a belly, wear an empire waist. Just don’t dress like a toddler or construction worker.
