What: Nordstrom Crystal Collection Large Flower Pin, $198
Why: For those of us who live in Manhattan, there is no shortage of news on the daily movements of the Sex and the City movie shooting all over our beloved city. Certain sites have daily sightings reported where besotted Carrie/Miranda/Samantha/Charlotte fans can run willy-nilly to the shoots to be shushed by PAs and spread rumors about what they’ve seen. We’ll keep you abreast of the fashion and shopping trends as they become more clear but we felt it necessary to give you a head’s up as you’re packing your spring clothes away that one of Carrie’s favorite accessories is making a comeback in a…um, big way.
Ladies, the flower is back. We don’t mean the actual-sized corsages that she used to wear. We’re talking big, ridiculously-oversized blooms found in jungles on the Amazon or in thickets in Thailand. Patricia Fields has taken this accessory to the extreme, creating corsages that rival Sarah Jessica Parker’s sizable mane of hair.
If you'd like to work this trend into your wardrobe and still be able to fasten your seatbelt or pull your coat over your clothes, may we suggest starting with a large but gorgeous flower pin, like this gorgeous Nordstrom Crystal Collection Large Flower Pin? Beautiful and elegant, it will take you from day to night with a touch of classic elegance and will allow you to secretly pledge your allegiance to Carrie before the movie hits theatres next year.

Must admit, I’m a giant fan of the giant flower. the bigger the better – bring it on Pat, you style genius!
I have to say…I was a corsage-wearing fool the first time around so there might be a photo of me in an oversized brooch come spring. I too worship at the style altar of Pat Fields. Loooove her…but interested to see what the general populus thinks….
I like the flower trend, but the really big style seems overkill to me.
I think I would look like an overzealous first grade teacher wearing a huge flower. But Carrie can certainly pull it off.
Here’s hoping delicate, functionless gloves don’t make their big comeback with the movie. They were little too precious for my liking the first time around, and, as a Chicagoan who knows when and how to wear gloves, I’m just not feeling the little lacy fingerless ones.
i love sex and the city. and i like the flower too.
