The Topic: The new non-clog style from Crocs.
The Debate: I’ve heard nothing but great things from all the Crocs converts I know. The patented foamy Croslite forms to feet for ultimate comfort; nubby insoles are like a continual foot massage; the shoes are aerated and light as a feather. Yeah, yeah, I get it: Crocs are the perfect summer shoe. But all those factors still aren’t enough to help me get over the sheer ugliness of Crocs’ clunky clogs.

Well, Crocs must be listening to those of us who base our Crocs-hate on looks alone, because this summer there are tons of new, girly styles. From candy-colored Cleo Slides ($30) to actually pretty chic looking (for a rubber shoe) Prima Ballet Flats
($31), Crocs is definitely upping their game. I actually bought a pair of the Mary Janes
($30) for a Mother’s Day gift, thinking they’d be perfect for my mom’s garden-to-grocery store jaunts. And the Sassari Wedges
($40) that combine a stacked heel with bands of hot metallics are just plain trendy.

The Verdict: I still haven’t quite crossed over -– but if my ultra-picky mom raves about them, I guess I’ll have to break down and give them a whirl. At least with these new, more feminine styles I’ll know I’m not walking around looking like one of the seven dwarves (unless of course one of the dwarves was called Stylish). What do you think? Are you a Crocs lover for life, or is it going to take a lot more than a trendy new lineup to get your feet into a pair? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

I could dig Crocs on the weekend, especially the ballet flats. Although the sandals and the wedges aren’t bad either. And since EVERYONE touts them for being so comfortable, I imagine they must be worth a shot.
I have a pair of the Crocs Athens flip flops. They really are extremely comfortable. I’m digging the new styles they’ve popped out this year but the colors are just too garish for my tastes. The prima ballet flats are probably the cutest thing they have out, but they sacrificed the comfort for the cute and they don’t have as much comfy padding as their uglier predecessors.
I like the wedges
The wedges are the only ones I would consider wearing and only if my feet were having a particularly nasty day. But crocs have never quite been my thing. I am very glad they’re trying to update their styles. Who knows. I might become a croc convert yet!
Even with these new styles, people are still wearing the original ugly ones. It is becuase croc wearing people have no fashion sense that even when a more stylish version comes out they don’t know what to do with it.

Life style and comfort, that is what Crocs are all about. I can wear the traditional style at work as a registered massage therapist then hop down to Women on Water (WOW) for an evening kyak. I may try the prima ballet flats for a style change but believe over time we will find the traditional will last and the other styles will fade.
