SheFinds Asks You: Toe Cleavage, Hot or Not?

The Debate: Warm weather means a lot of things, and when it comes to fashion, mostly it means bearing more skin. From head to toe we start to let it all hang out, which is OK in moderation, but when you start getting cleavage in the wrong places, well, in my opinion, that’s just wrong.

Case in point: piggie crack. Nothing ruins a good pair of cute flats or sexy pumps like toe cleavage. I believe in this so strongly that no matter how fab a shoe looks on the shelves or how insanely great the sale price is, I simply won’t buy them. Even the thought of seeing those toes stuffed into a too-short-toe-box starts to make me shudder inside.

The Verdict: In my eyes toe cleavage is obviously never hot. How about you? Do you think it’s at least acceptable? Is there any problem showing off your cleavage or would you rather be caught dead than flaunt it? You decide. Post your comments below.

    ew! I hate hate hate toe cleavage…. just like you, as soon as I see my toes peeking out from the toe box I WILL NOT buy them. Under no circumstances ever.
    I’ve had a lot of people call me crazy, and say it’s no big deal. But I hate it.
    Unfortunately I have REALLY long, skinny toes. Not only are my feet a wopping size 10, my toes seem abnormally long, so I get toe cleavage in a lot more shoes than most people would. Makes shoe buying hard!

    Definitely not hot. I have never found the “peep toe” designs remotely attractive. They ruin the line of the foot with the rest of an outfit. As a person who builds my outfits starting with my shoes, it’s really important that I have smooth silhouettes, so it’s an all-or-nothing deal when it comes to toe-showing.

    I live in a “large metropolis.” I grew up in Chicago. I still think peep toes are in poor taste. I’m a fashionista, not a fashion slave.

    Living in a large city in no way gives you fashion authority, and shame on you for inferring people are “hicks” from “back hoe cities” because they disagree with you – by the way, the “winking” does not make the rudeness OK.

    Your opinion is still just an opinion and just one opinion, no matter where you live. Same for you, same for me.

    i don’t like toe cleavage – i prefer to let it all hang out in the summer – flip flops, a great pedicure with fab bright toe color but then i design flip flops so that they take advantage of the feet.

    This debate is absolutely hilarious to me, since I have “syndactyly” (webbed toes, present in 1 out of every 2500 babies)on
    two toes of each foot. No option of toe cleavage here…I don’t have any! I really don’t think it pretty when I see toe cleavage in others (and I live in the small town of Los Angeles), but, do what you want(after all, I live in Los Angeles!).

    no no no! i actually read somewhere a while ago (more than a year) that it was “in/acceptable” and i was shocked! I think it makes your shoes seem like they don’t fit and that you have fat feet. It sounds so strange, but I’m just so against it! I say no to the toe cleavage!

    It depends on the shoe, the person, what they are wearing, and their age. For instance, on a 70 year old wearing heels (like in the above picture) and a pinstripe suit – NOT ACCEPTABLE AND TOTALLY GROSS. But for a 20 year old wearing louboutins and a mini-dress CUTE AND FLIRTY.

    Toe cleavage is so cute (although the picture is clearly of shoes that don’t fit). It can really highlight a good pair of shapely feat. As for AreYouKidding’s comment, toe cleavage is about aesthetics, and fashion is about caring about that. Having a debate is not the same as criticising other women – having an opinion does not make a person misogynist.

    I know most guys probably couldn’t care less about this, aside than those who are really into feet, but it really bugs me! I have no problem with feet, or open toe shoes, but when you see the cleevage sticking out above a closed toe shoe it just looks like the shoe fits wrong! It’s like wearing jeans way too small and having you wiast bulge over the top! NOT sexy!

    I feel that toe cleavage can be very sexy. For instance, I seen a very attractive lady recently and she was wearing stiletto heels that revealed toe cleavage. She caught me looking at her feet and gave me a little smile in appreciation, I think.     Toe cleavage, which is entirely different than “peep toe”, is something I instantly found sexy. Low vamp, stiletto pumps are not only my favorite shoe to see on a woman(I hate flip flops) they are also the classiest. BTW, Michele,trust me, you’re on to something with that K.C. comment. :)

    I just purchased a pair of lovely blue Louboutin’s (which I am unable to return) for my upcoming wedding. Its the Decolstrass style and I have toe cleavage on all toes and I’m wondering wether or not to even wear them. They do, however, fit perfectly. So what I got is that most men think its sexy and most women think its gross. DAMN! What should I do?!

    I am also a Man who finds that some toe cleavage with the right closed toe pumps looks extremely sexy, giving a hint of her sexy toes inside the shoes. I think women’s feet and toes are very sexy anyways, but the added hint of cleavage, its mysterious & ultra feminine! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the following two issues 1) you can’t find any shoes with a normal-sized toe box anymore 2) toe cleavage revealing shoes do not fit well!     P.S. Long, ultra pointy shoes, are TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever sold women on the idea that these shoes look good, should be shot. Even with toe cleavage, they look awful.     About 3 years ago a boyfriend bought me a pair of ultra low cut stilettos online from a place called lovelypumps.com

    The shoe is very gracefull and proportioned and much lower cut then anything I have ever worn – they are all leather and the vamp is cut pretty much to where the toenails begin.

    Not one day goes by when I don’t recieve compliements from both men and women about them.

    Those are toe cleavage shoes done right!

    Toe cleavage is definitely hot, at least if a girl takes care of her feet. I’m not talking about fanatical, weekly pedicures and daily scrubbing & pumicing, just making sure they are presentable. A cute pair of feet with pretty toes showing off in sandals or flip-flops is quite appealing, but if the shoes have to be closed toe, then toe cleavage is 100% hot. However, I agree with a previous poster who said that it’s hot if the shoe is more rounded at the tip instead of very pointy, like in the picture above.
