The Winner: The Ruby Red Lip
Why: While the trend worn with the dramatic eyes was mostly nude or pink lips, some stars decided to take a cue from the carpet and work a red-hot pout. The winner of those who took the decidedly bold approach? Katherine Heigl, who wowed with her scarlet lacquered lips.
Get the look: For years, many have argued that there is no such thing as a “universal red,” but after much pre-Emmys research (because we had a feeling this might be hot) we came up with the one red lipstick that looks great on our friends of all ethnicities.
