Designer fashion for the masses is spreading like wildfire: Mossimo, Isaac Mizrahi, Proenza Schouler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Karl Lagerfeld, Madonna… the list goes on. Not a normal shopper at bargain brand stores like H&M or Target? How about the classic Brooks Brothers known for their classy suits with clean lines and superb tailoring? For the Fall 2007 season, the iconic company will welcome the first of many guest designers to make up their “Designer Collection.” The hopes are to bring an edgier, more fashion-forward feel to the brand.
Thom Browne, award-winning New York menswear designer, will be the first in the series, bringing to the stage a 47-piece collection of apparel and accessories for men and women. The line will be called “Black Fleece” and will feature items such as pleated skirts, blazers, knee-length shorts, capes, evening wear, shoes and bags. Be on the lookout for the low-heeled oxfords that are said to become a very popular product.
