SheFinds News: Celebs Get Crafty for Charity
Let's get over it, Uggs aren't going anywhere, anytime soon. (If you're not a fan of the boots, hang on for the Spring Surf collection, there's something for everyone.) Celebrities like Kate Hudson, Drew Barrymore, and Pam Anderson made Uggs uber-fashionable. And now celebs are teaming up with UGG Australia for the 3rd Annual Art & Sole Collection to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St Jude's mission is magnanimous: find cures for children with catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. This mission costs an unfathomable 500 million dollars a year as no family is turned away for unability to pay. Marlo Thomas is the driving force behind the fundraising, her father, Danny Thomas founded St. Jude in 1962.
Art & Sole features one-of-a-kind Ugg boots designed by celebrities which are up for bid on eBay. This year there are some pretty big names putting paint brush to footwear for a worthy cause. The boots are up for charitable bidding through November 15th. The boots go live in waves so make sure to check in frequently to bid on your favorite celeb's design. Some stars, like Ray Romano and Katie Couric had some creative help from their kids. Others, like Sarah McLachlan and Marcia Gay Harden show off their artistic sides.
Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor decorated their boots in an NYC hotel room. Looks like they got the memo: feathers are hot for fall!
Teri Hatcher's hot pink palette is anything but 'desperate.'
Faith Hill's optimistic design embodies the spirit of the auction. Now through October 26th you can bid on Donald Trump's boots, as well as the Today Show's team of decorated Uggs. Find them at eBay.com.
