Seven easy pieces… three simple words that have been linked with Donna Karan since she started her first collection in 1985. And with her newest line, Donna Karan Icons, she’s returning to that concept of seven simple pieces doing it all. The new line, due out in May or June of this year, will be classic Karan and work well with her other collections. It’s also planned to be one that endures… subtlely updated but focusing heavily on Karan basics: stretch, jersey, black, draping and sculptural details like hardware or wiring. There’ll be a tie dress with a sculpted element, a taffeta trencoat with an organza liner and a double-faced cashmere coat with wiring.
