I remember a day when Benetton was one of my favorite stores, complete with all the necessary fashion staples of the day, including beloved polos and preppy sweaters. Over the past few years, however, the global brand has been slipping into a sort of fashion obscurity, closing down hundreds of stores and starting to look even worse than what’s happened at Gap.
In order to bring Benetton back up to speed and into the limelight, the company is taking a lesson from fast fashion, offering a wider selection of threads from super trendy to core classics. You’ll see lots of the same button-up shirts and khakis that have always been a part of their collection, but also a few items that are a little more disposable as the season’s fashions come and go. Check out Benetton.com for some cool accessories, like these pretty wedges and crocodile belts, or even this interesting take on runway-inspired fashion. You might just find you’ll want some Benetton Basics back in your closet.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t quite old enough to appreciate the Benetton trend back in the day, but I agree that they haven’t been putting out very useful collections lately. Hopefully this latest one will brighten their prospects. If anything, those wedges will sell like hotcakes, because they’re tres cute!
