SheFinds Solutions: How to Blow-Dry Your Hair (the Right Way)

imageIt’s officially getting cooler outside, so the days of getting away with running out the door with wet hair are over. Blow-drying your mane doesn’t have to be a total pain, though. Try these easy steps for beautiful blow-out without the fuss. Here’s what you’ll need: smoothing/shine serum, blow dryer, clips (for holding sections), large round brush.

1. Apply the smoothing/shine serum to your hair while it’s still wet – a few small drops will do – with your hands and then comb through.

2. Warm your hair up with the blow dryer on a medium to medium-high setting. For extra volume, massage your roots while drying here.

3. Separate and secure your hair into sections. You’re going to start from the back, so leave that section loose.

4. With your blow dryer in one hand and your brush in the other, start drying your hair from root to tip, moving the brush and the blow dryer together with the blow dryer angled downward toward the ends of your hair. You blow dryer should be on a high heat setting, but the speed of the air should be low. Repeat with the remaining sections.

5. Once your hair is dry, blow a bit of cool air on it to set the style. Rub a dab of smoothing serum through your ends and pat it into your crown to tame any flyways.

Tip: Always keep a good bit of tension between the brush and your hair – this will give you a smoother, straighter and sleeker look.

Great job for styling tips and this is not for everybody. Not everyone need a serum in fact product sometimes makes the hair more limp and oily then need be. Especially fine hair, cosmetic weight weighs the heair down. Watch out for it. Also I find that brush very effective for very frizzy thick hair, but very hard to use. Use a ceramic brush that will get it smoother and it will be easier.
