Toebesity: Would You Cut Off Your Pinky Toe for Cuter Feet?

imageYou get regular pedicures. You have serious love affairs with Jimmy, Manolo, Christian and Stuart. You want your feet to be as cute as possible. How far would you go? Plastic surgery?

The Trend: The craze sweeping plastic surgery offices lately are women who want their feet to look as cute as the rest of them. Procedures range from the removal of bunions and hammertoes to “foot facials” that involve exfoliation and chemical peels. You can get Restylane, collagen or fat injections in the ball and/or heel of the foot to make it more comfortable to wear high heels for longer periods of time. Not extreme enough for you? Other procedures include having toes lengthened or shortened, foot narrowing or liposuction for the foot. Some women are having pinky toes removed altogether so it doesn’t ruin the line of their shoes.

Our Take: Who cares about wrinkled tootsies? We’d rather spend our hard earned cash on a chemical peel for our face, not for our feet. And collagen injections? The sound of being comfortable longer in stilettos is appealing, but that’s why we wear Foot Petals. As for toebesity, we’re beyond obsessing about something so minute (we’ve got BIGGER fat deposits to worry about) and for goodness sake, that pinky toe is crucial to a great looking pair of sandals.

Plastic surgery on feet? No. But I have had 2 bunion surgeries to stop the pain on one foot. The side effect is that my shoes fit so much better!! I’m ready to do my other foot despite the post-surgical pain and too-long recovery time!

Surgically removing a pinkie toe in order to slim down feet is, to me, the equivalent to removing a rib to have the tiniest waist!
Although I wish I had more slimmer, narrow feet (wear a 7 1/2 W in shoes at 5′3″!) I don’t have any foot problems like bunions.
I only use Tone Cocoa Butter lotion to moisturize legs, arms, & feet if I see callous.
Tone Lotion is inexpensive, and it really works!
To go so far as using surgery on my feet is just insane, and really going overboard.

I personally, am a victim of unattractive feet! My second toe is larger then my “big” toe. It used to bother me to the point that I wouldn’t wear sandals or flip flops, closed toe only. Then, I realized how minute this issue was & that no one looks at your feet. I would never have surgery to make my feet more aesthetically plaesing, I think that is crazy. How about a pedicure and some cute peep toes instead? It’s alot cheaper!

My pinky toe is really weird. It’s like I only have a hammertoe on my pinky foot!
All my other toes are fine, but the pinky one bothers me so much! I would really consider surgery (if I had the luxory) to straighten it out.

i would definatly consider plastic surgery on my feet. I have a 6.5 x wide foot and it is almost impossible to find really cute shoes that my foot can even fit into. as for removing a toe… that does seem a bit extreem. ask me again when i see a nice pair of slim fitting heals.

i can relate to the toe issues. my pinky toes both overlap my 4th toes. makes it really tough to find shoes

i have a hammer toe and am on my feet all day in boots. my pinky toe is very bad and embarassing when people ask what happened to my feet. i wear mens boots 9 and a half wide. i would definately get the surgery if i had the luxury. it isn’t sexy at all. my feet are already short and fat and having this darn toe really sets the ugly off.
