Trend Spotting: Bright Tights — Would You Wear Them?

imageimageimage

What: Bright, candy-colored tights for fall that lined the runways at Balenciaga, Pucci and Moschino, and that have already been spotted on celebreties wandering the streets.

Left Brain Says: They're definitely one way to make a statement when worn against an all-black ensemble and they'll add some zip to a rainy day in seconds flat. Of course, like all tights, they add much-needed warmth and a touch of modesty for the girl afraid of baring her gams. They're also a cheap way to update your wardrobe.

Right Brain Says: They're glaring, over-the-top bold and almost infantile. Sure neon was hot in the '80s and all of fall fashion is screaming revival, but I can't quite get behind the trend…or can I? If I go monochromatic in all purple or turquoise will I look like a walking crayon? Or if I pair them up with some mod prints and eye-catching patterns will it be to glaring and busy?

What does your grey matter say? Yay or nay? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section.

Get Yours: Urban Outfitters — they have an incredible selection of footless, footed, patterned and shiny legging styles, and their Sparkle & Fade Opaque Tights are currently 2 for $20.

Can’t say that I would ever wear candy colored tights, the scary thing about bright neon accessories is either you can pull it off or you can’t. You could really get the outfit all wrong and end up looking like the 80′s threw-up all over you. Hopefully you have an honest friend who will be able to tell you if you’re a hot pink legging girl or not.

I absolutely love that this style is coming back in. I used to wear neon tights in about 4th or 5th grade adn I loved them. I was so upset when they ripped.

I’m back…and I got my first pair (hot pink) in the mail yesterday! Now…I just gotta find that perfect outfit to wear them with!!!
    I’m so excited :)

I recently was brave enough to sport this trend. Except I went for hot red tights instead of hot pink. I’ve also seen aqua blue tights on the streets of Shanghai. If paired with conservative winter colours – greys, browns etc, they can look magnificent!
