Website Wish List: Zara, Go Online, Por Favor

Right now I'm extra frustrated with Zara. Not only do they not offer the clothes I love online, but their website, zara.com, has proven to be completely useless. In fact, I can't even find a place that tells me where their store locations are. What gives? For such a fashion power house (they surpassed H&M as Europe's top fashion retailer a couple years ago), I can't understand why they wouldn't devote at least a little effort to making their affordable goodies available to more people.

Okay, not that affordable, or at least not when you compare the prices here to those on the racks in the Spanish chain's home country. But they still do a phenomenal job of responding quickly to the newest trends so that gals on a budget can afford to look like they've been shopping the more upscale outlets.

I actually spoke to a member of the store's Board of Directors–both about the lack of an online presence in the US and the minimal amount of stores. According to him, they've found the markets stateside much more difficult to penetrate, which is why they've focused their retail stores only in major cities like New York and Miami (maybe other places, too–like I said, I can't get the website to tell me even that most basic info). Yet they do have their Zara Home collection online, so why not give us Americans a chance to show our love by putting the clothes in the same place?

For now, we'll just file Zara under the same label as H&M, the Limited, and Express–can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

Great review! I love the styles at Zara, but their website is definitely lacking. I’d love to be able to view and purchase their clothes online…

thank you for your review, i started looking for zara’s website three days ago and at first i was convinced that something was wrong with me or with my computer, because i couldn’t possibly believe that a company like zara wouldn’t have their clothing line on their website, but then when i read your comment i realized that they just really suck for not having an adequate website for what they represent to their customers.

I agree that the website is totally useless. I couldn’t even click on United States because the flash navigation kept appearing and disappearing. It was almost a game to try and trick the navigation, but I lost. I tried finding any website that offered ZARA clothing and only found older items on eBay. Anyone out there find a site that sells what is actually in season?
