Winter Workout Wear: Let’s Not Skirt the Issue Of Style
Yes, the winter weather is making its annual not-so-subtle arrival with all of its chilling winds and biting cold temperatures. Unfortunately — as I often have to remind myself — this is not an excuse to put away your running sneaks and ditch your workout buddies. It just means that you simply have to attire yourself with warmer sets of workout clothes.
As you can see by the alarmingly pink photo above, we have discovered an interesting new winter workout wear trend. This little all-in-one skirt with built-in tights is sold on a website called SkirtSports.com, and according to them, it can be worn “on the trails or at your favorite night club.” (Yes, I too shrieked in horror.) As a former soccer player who is more accustomed to the warm up pant, I have to ask: Are we really doing this?
Personally, I just don’t see the point of the skirt at all. I mean I know leggings were hot this year but come on. Maybe if you were playing tennis these might make sense, but most outdoor courts close for the winter anyway. And, honestly, could you really see Maria Sharipova rocking this? No.
Besides, Nike invented Therma-FIT fabric for a reason.
