Beauty Trend: Long, Lush Lashes Without Batting An Eye

Nothing says glamour to me like long, lush, gorgeous eye lashes. Apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks so—just open up any fashion magazine or check out pictures of starlets on the red carpet.  Until recently, getting my lashes to look like this involved a frustrating hour of applying mascara in front of my smudged bathroom mirror. The great news is that achieving this look is much easier now than ever before. There are some new fabulous products that will get you those “WOW, your lashes look amazing” compliments and make you feel like a celebutante in US Weekly magazine.

Some of you may be loyal to your current mascara—devoted, even.  Well, even if you are, you can always make it perform better with Shiseido’s Mascara Base ($22).  This clear basecoat is a modern day miracle. It boosts volume and length when you use it before your regular mascara. 

Current mascara isn’t giving you what you need? Try Covergirl Lash Blast ($7.65).  This mascara has such incredible results that it was sold out everywhere within days of being released. For the price, nothing will get your lashes longer or thicker with the staying power of a $$$ product. 

Another coveted mascara is Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effet Faux Cils ($27.50).  Pricey, but it’s a HG (holy grail) product for many. Bonus: it comes in 6 stunning colors. 

Finally, if you have the time or energy, M.A.C. has a huge selection of false eyelashes. All you have to do is trim, glue, then apply to get the most dramatic look of all. Bonus: after purchasing the falsies, a M.A.C artist will apply them for you free of charge. Trust me…if you have time, it is well worth it.
