What: Ear Staple Appetite Suppressant
Why: Women go through a lot in the pursuit of the perfect body (what constitutes the perfect body, I'm not quite sure, you'll have to consult Buzzfeed on that one). I can stomach hearing about extreme fad diets and insane exercise routines (I personally resort to my trusty Spanx). What I can't fathom is getting my body pierced to suppress my appetite. An ear staple – touted as permanent acupuncture – is inserted in the protruding piece of cartilage in your ear, and is supposed to hit on nerve pathways associated with your appetite. I don't really understand the logistics, nor do I necessarily believe them. Maybe the sheer pain of having that part of your ear pierced will take your mind off food?
