According to Vogue, women who weigh more than 125 pounds are clinically obese, and only freakishly symmetrical faces should bother leaving the house. However, occasionally Wintour's famous mag lets loose with some helpful hints for the everyday fashionista. When purchasing some new pieces for your Spring wardrobe, you may want to consider the "hot hues" for the season – purple, coral, and turquoise (not all at once though) are rumored to be this coming season's new black.
So, as a devotee of black who is hesitant to adopt any color at all, I figured I'd show you some colorful pre-spring standouts.
Alexis Bittar, a Brooklyn bred designer inspired by everything from found objects to foreign flea markets, is one of my favorite jewelry designers. His colorful pieces are perfect for pairing with everything from a white sundress to a t-shirt and jeans. This necklace (was $125, now $94) incorporates a beautifully royal purple while complementing it with a touch of gold. Other unique Alexis Bittar necklaces are now available at Saks.
This Rebecca Taylor dress ($328) – another designer who I am slightly obessed with – channels high-end retro glam without compromising Taylor's famously kittenish and feminine aesthetic. The jewel hue and ruffled hem are the fabric equivalents of a breezy day at the park.

Sheila Fajl's coral colored cocktail ring ($178) is another versatile way to incorporate color into your pre-spring wardrobe. Simple and chic, it's a piece that would look adorable with some gold bangles or a turquoise necklace.
