Fall Shoes And Cool Jewelry At Piperlime’s Fancy Dinner

Last night we went to a dinner with some of the Piperlime gals, and got to hear about their latest venture into helping you pick out your shoes: a little video that showcases the season’s boot trends, with a ton of options for each style.

And I must thank this well-thought-out web page for introducing me to these go-with-everything wedge boots and this glossy black knee-high pair.

Shoes aside, though, all through dinner I was staring at the sparkly rings on the fingers of the video’s host, wide-eyed stylist Louise Roe.

Here’s the scoop: that big black-and-gold ring on her right hand (left, $980) is by Mesi Jilly – labradorite and gold on top of a stunning polished seashell. If you’re not willing to invest that much, get a similar look with Forever 21’s Monobead Ring (center, $4.80), which you can pretty much justify by foregoing the vanilla in tomorrow’s latte.

The other ring is by Lia Sophia, which is sort of like the jewelry industry’s answer to Tupperware (by which I mean they sell stuff at parties in peoples’ homes, not they make reusable plastic jewelry containers). Of course, it looked incredibly cool on Louise’s tangerine-tipped fingers. For a similarly oversized crystal piece, check out the sterling silver ring below (right, $350).

It looks like jewelry this season is leaning towards big, bold, and statement-making, so if you can pull off both of these rings together plus an armful of bangles a la Louise, get to it before minimalism strikes again.
