Fashion Myth: You Can’t Wear Black To A Daytime Wedding

Daytime weddings— especially in the summer— can be a real challenge to the closet. You want something classy and comfortable that will effortlessly slide from the afternoon ceremony into cocktail hour and the evening dinner. But that old fall back, the LBD, is out… or is it?

You CAN wear black to a daytime wedding and many brides are choosing the previously shunned color for their bridesmaid dresses. However, there are a few tips to making it work:

  1. Don’t pick a satin or other shiny material that may look great at night, but seem over the top during the day.
  2. Pick a classic style, like a sheath or tank dress, that has gorgeous detailing rather than a trendy cut that will seem overly flashy.
  3. Minimize your accessories or pick a key piece like oversize earrings or an arm of bangles.

This Banana Republic studded jersey knit dress ($80) hits on all three key points. The studded embellishments at the shoulders add just enough panache to its simple empire silhouette, while the jersey material keeps the whole ensemble okay for day. Add a single bold bracelet, and you're ready to witness some nuptials.

My impression is different. A day time wedding that ends in an evening reception is an evening wedding. A daytime wedding that ends in the daytime, is a daytime wedding. That being said, a LBD is not an ideal day time wedding outfit. Fab for evening though. Check out these wedding cheat sheets:

Need advice on an outfit to wear to a daytime and nighttime wedding!? My boyfriend and I have 2 weddings to attend on the same day in April. One is at 2pm (outside ceremony) and the other is at 7pm (on beach then reception inside a hotel). The problem is that I dont have time to change in between! I need advice on an outfit that is appropriate for both. I was thinking of changing in the car though.

I think that’s the best explanation I got.I am Albanian and I am very close to engage and I thought to wear in purple that day but one of my friends who have lived in Italy told me that and I became supersticious. about that,so I wanted to asure myself if it was true or not…..Tennessee Limo !!!
