Day 3 of Fashion Week happened yesterday, and on paper, I had a big day. First up: A Pamella Roland “presentation” with an appearance by Eva Longoria, sponsored by M&Ms Premium. In the Main Tent at Bryant Park! “Presentation” usually means “not quite a real fashion show,” but that’s ok – the last one I went to was highly entertaining and showcased an entire collection of clothes.
Actually, though, it was not ok. I stood with SheFindsKristin and SheFindsBecky in a “press area” – a small velvet-roped rectangle of space – behind many tall and more aggressive men with large cameras.
The music started, an M&M (the sexy green lady M&M) appeared on a flatscreen, and models started trotting out wearing Pamella Roland designs and carrying M&Ms, while sexy green lady M&M narrated how the dresses went with the flavors. What?

For the record, Ms. Longoria looked lovely in a “mocha” Pamella Roland, but I could hardly see her.

At least Glam came to the rescue and invited us to unwind from the paparazzi pit with drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the Bryant Park Grill following the madness.
Then I was supposed to go to the Tibi show. I happen to love Tibi’s retro-inspired shapes and interesting prints, like the ones on this polka-dot dress ($194) and silk and wool skirt ($245).
Sadly though, I would not get to see the Tibi that won’t be available for another four months.
I showed up at the tents for the 7 PM show at 6:45, invitation and invite confirmation in hand. I waited on line until 7:30, then they didn't even have the decency to turn me away with a rude comment I could blog about. About 40 people ahead of me, the girls with the List announced that the show had been overbooked, and nobody else was allowed in.
So I walked to 43rd street and changed into flats.
