Road Test: Nivea’s Good-bye Cellulite Regimen

image

I've made half-hearted attempts with cellulite creams before. I'd slather the back of my thighs as often as I could remember, until the bottle got pushed to the back of my medicine chest or fell behind my dresser. I never saw results, and I didn't really expect to. After all, I was just slapping on some lotion.

But I'm a sucker for a strategy, and that's what drew me to Nivea's Good-bye Cellulite regimen ($16.19). Three products—supplements, gel, and patches—release L-Carnitine into your skin (or your bloodstream), theoretically breaking up fatty deposits and reducing the appearance of cellulite in 30 days. All three products release L-Carnitine (a chemical that occurs naturally in the body), but the different delivery methods make me feel like I have a system in place… a multi-tiered plan of attack.

Of course, a strategic action plan isn't going to help me look good in a bikini, so the real question is: Does it work? In the interest of scientific inquiry, I'm embarking on a 30-day road-test. I'll use all three products as directed, and refrain from engaging in any strenuous exercise or changing my diet (strictly for the sake of the integrity of my research). In 30 days, I'll report back.

In the meantime, you can check out the products at drugstore.com.

Good luck with that, but cellulite and wrinkle creams are all hoaxes :) I hope it works though, even temporarily!

    Hi-

I bought the Nivea Good-bye Cellulite gel only, after seeing Dr. Wexler, the New York City cosmetic surgeon, recommend it on the Today Show 2 weeks ago.

I’m doing an experiment myself: I’ve been applying the gel twice a day, as specified in the directions on the ivea container. However, I’m only applying it to the left thigh only. Today is my third day.

Let’s see if there’s a difference between the side that is being “treated”, versus the side that is not.

    Wish me luck!

I’m doing the Nivea anti-cellulite thing too- just with the patches and gel, but not the dietary supplement. Good luck to everybody! The results on the Tyra Banks show were pretty impressive, so I’m hoping for some results!

Has anyone seen results with the Nivea system yet? I’ve been applying the gel once or twice a day for almost two weeks, and doing the patches twice a week, and haven’t seen a difference, except that my skin is softer than usual.

I’ve spent up to $250 for years on the miracle creams when I realized hey, mabey it’s all a scam. Liposuction does not even work. I too watched the Tyra show and couldn’t believe the results. However, if you listened every woman had also changed thier diet and exercize routine. The only true test is when the only change is the application of the product. That said, I cannot wait to hear back from Fabulously broke because she can truly tell us if there is a differance through comparison.

Sorry, I made a mistake. I just realized it is clams07 and not fabulously broke who’s results I’m interested in.

I would like to hear some feed back from someone who has completed the entire 4 weeks. I have lost weight recently by going to the gym and changing my diet, but I still have cellulite. I want to know before I purchase the product if it worked for anyone besides those on the Tyra show.
