DId Rogan Come Through In The End?

Not since Target began their illustrious GO International campaign has there been such buzz around a designer's premiere at the store than one Mr. Rogan Gregory. I suppose we have Barneys to thank for that, only proving that you can make anything seem chicer if it's showcased in a hoity toity shopping atmosphere. Since I bought my 3 pieces a few weeks ago, I've been testing them out about town, and even went back to the store last weekend to pick up another Rogan design.

I finally got a chance to wear my zebra swimsuit ($30) to the beach, and it did not disappoint. Since one-pieces are the hot suit of the moment (thanks, SATC) I felt sexy, yet still covered up. Just be aware that the front V-neck dips quite low, so the girls will definitely be making an appearance.  However, it's a tie-neck, so you can hike it up to hide the cleave.

They might seem simple, but these poplin white shorts ($27) are the perfect summer staple to pair with a bold hued top and trendy gladiators. I've already had to dry clean them a couple times – yes, I even dry clean my Target clothes – but that's only because I want to keep this fashion staple in tip-top shape.

Although a lot of his pieces were on the casual side (the collection was heavy on t-shirts and jersey dresses), there were a few pieces that stood out as office-appropriate. I've worn this linen stripe wrap dress ($45), to several meetings and felt both professional and fashionable.

I really didn't see myself even considering the chiffon leopard print dress ($40) that has been in every Rogan for Target commercial since the brand debuted, but when I went back to the store, I decided to try it on just for fun. And wouldn't you know, the sucker ended up going home with me. Although the description online claims the colors are black sheep and igloo, the darker tone is more of a chocolate, which made the frock stand out. And it's a flirty length made from soft chiffon. Yes, I believe everyone and their sister will probably be sporting this dress for the next few seasons, but I figure I'll buy it now, put it away until the hype dies down, and then re-introduce it next spring as vintage Rogan. Just a thought.

I hit up the nearest Target specifically to see the Rogan brand, and I came home with three new pieces! I didn’t get any of the ones above, but the ones I grabbed are pretty awesome for about $25 each.

A little too much safari going on, but otherwise it’s a nice collection.
