We Need To Teach The RNC How To Shop For Sarah Palin

image

You would have to be underground right now not to have heard the furor over Sarah Palin’s shopping sprees.  Politico reports that the RNC has spent more than $150,000 in clothes and accessories for Sarah Palin and her family since they joined the campaign in late August. The spree began in early September with bills totaling $49,425.74 from Saks and $75,062.63 from Neiman Marcus. They've also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup. Is your mouth hanging open? Yeah, that’s kinda how we felt about it.

In an economic downturn, you need to get more bang for your buck, but you certainly don’t have to sacrifice quality. Let’s take her notorious black skirt suit. The two above are almost carbon copies of what she's been seen in on the campaign trail. One of them costs $2300 (the amount we assume she'd spend on the ensemble), while the other, from Neiman's coincidentally, rings in at $500.

Can you tell the difference? Click on the images to find out which is which. And dress up like Palin for Halloween, wig and all, without breaking the bank.

I guessed right that the one on the left was the NM one. Yeah, $150,000 for clothes and accessories made my jaw drop too.

I guessed correctly, too. I knew there was no way there’d be a bow like that on the neck of a $2300 suit. (Of course, you could probably remove it and thus make your suit look more like the high-end one.)

If you like the Sarah Palin eyewear look I found some really inexpensive look-alike clear lens glasses at http://www.wholesalecelebshades.com.

This is my first time on this website and I cannot believe the first thing I see is an attack on a woman running for Vice President. Is this how “sisters” support each other? No matter your politics it’s obvious that the attack is sexist. Has anyone looked into the cost of McCain’s or Obama’s attire? What is it about women that makes us our own worse enemy at times?

I was disappointed in the $$$ spent.
I have sincere respect for Gov. Palin, but be wasteful in front of the the world when her foundation has never reflected high end persoanl needs but her down to earth goals and abilities?
I don’t think we as women are attacking the VP candidate – when you accept a position of great importance you hold the resposibility and accountability that goes along with that choice.
