Week Of Hair Help: Taming The Frizzy Fro

Ok, my hair isn’t exactly a ‘fro by any stretch of the word, but it's fine and naturally wavy, which lends itself to frizz whether it’s chilly December or muggy July. So if you have frizzy hair, here are a few of my favorites to combat the so-not-what-I-was-going-for look:

blow hair masque

If your hair has been feeling a little dry, blow damage control restorative hair masque ($20) will renew your hair with softness and shine. It’s a big dose of moisture, which combats the stress from thermal styling (aka, your flattening iron, curling iron, blow dryer, etc.) And it does it all without leaving an icky residue behind.

hair supply

Another repair masque, Soap & Glory Hair Supply ($10) leaves hair super shiny and glossy… even if your hair is overprocessed. It’s an ultra-light gel that hydrates and defrizzes without weighing hair down. It worked really well on my fine hair and on the days I used it, I didn’t need the straightening iron on the ends.

sabino

If your frizz is humidity related, you’ll heart Sabino Moisture Block ($21). Not only does it protect your hair during styling, but it keeps out the extra moisture your hair absorbs when you step outside. It locks in conditioners and washes out only with shampoo, rather than evaporating mysteriously in a few hours. While it was more weighty than the other products, it didn’t flatten my natural volume.
