What To Wear To: Sleep Over At The In-Laws

image

Let's picture this. You go to visit your new in-laws and of course you're obligated to wake up at the crack of dawn because "Mom" is making her famous french toast. They insist you don't dress up for breakfast. "Just roll out of bed and come to the table." Right. If only they knew you slept in your boyfriend's – I mean husband's – ratty old college t-shirt and a pair of boxer shorts. So what's a girl to wear when lounging with your new fam? We suggest ditching the shorts for a pair of cashmere yoga pants in a jersey grey. The material keeps it luxe while the color downplays the ensemble. On top, opt for a simple cotton tank in a solid, darker color so your bra (if you're wearing one) doesn't show through. Look for a tank that's long in length so your midriff won't peek out. If you're of the modest camp, cover up with a button-down boyfriend cardigan in basic black.

It'd be wise not to prance around in your bare feet unless the rules of the house request you do so. Slip on a pair of flip-flops before heading to the table, and make sure your unruly bedhead is somewhat tamed. A simple headband will do the trick.

Must say it’s a pretty good combination. It all depends how comfortable you’re with your in-laws though. Trekkie bottoms are fine but a long casual dress could go just as well.
