Yes, ticket prices are astronomical, and you'll probably have to swap your firstborn to get some peanuts on the flight, but let's face it, during the dog days of summer you'll do anything to get the heck out of Dodge. So once you've resigned yourself to the sad fact that the flight is going to be crowded, bumby, and devoid of complimentary microwave dinners, you're going to have to think about how to make yourself as comfortable as possible. We already gave you some options for travel outfits that will keep you comfy, but above is one that will also keep you chic.
Athough you may hesitate to throw on jeans when boarding a plane, a lightweight, wide-leg pair with some stretch will actually prove quite comfortable. Pair with a simple cotton tank – remember, layering is key since planes are either stifling hot or unbearably freezing. Take along a gauzy scarf and casual bomber jacket, which both give your look jetsetter appeal. Of course security is a pain (albeit a necessary one), but that doesn't mean you should keep all of your bling stashed away. Opt for a colorful cuff bracelet than can easily slide on and off. And your footwear should slide too, so some flattering thongs would be ideal. Lastly, if you are running away for a brief weekend, take a petite rolling carryon with you – but skip the black and choose a standout color that won't get lost in the overhead bin.
Cotton Poplin Bomber Jacket, $50
Banded Knit Top, $15
Chloé Wide Leg Sailor Jeans, $435

it’s always freezing on planes – a scarf is the perfect accessory to bring – thanks for the suggestion
