We may be in a slump economically, but our fashion sense remains festive. This season, sequins are out and about on bags, sweaters, dresses, and my latest personal favorite…skirts. You can always toss on a lively disco ball dress with black tights, but it's much more fun to slip sequins into an occasion – and your ensemble – unexpectedly.
A sequin pencil skirt is the perfect combination of class and glitz. It's ideal for office parties where you always want to arrive at that happy medium. Pair with a simple jersey tee, and cover up with a lightweight cashmere cardigan in a rich plum. Keep your shoes simple but not boring; a detailed peep toe will work. Since your skirt carries most of the shine, opt for fewer accessories like a solitary cocktail ring and elegant dangle earrings. Finally, choose a box clutch in a mixed metallic to give your outfit a vintage feel.
