So many women are afraid of the bootie … and shouldn’t be. We have fully embraced this half shoe/half boot trend with open arms, and our steadfast fashion advice is that you do too because it looks like the ankle bootie is going nowhere fast. To help navigate the muddy waters of what to wear with it, check out our suggestions below.

The bootie is meant to be seen. Don’t hide it under long pants so only the tip peeks out. Pair instead with skirts and dresses. However, because this style of shoe cuts you off at the ankle, opt for shorter lengths when choosing a dress. This will elongate your leg. Add some black tights to create a flattering, lengthy monochromatic look.
The bootie is modern and sleek, so your look should be too. Accessorize with some understated bangles and make sure not to get too blingy. Finally, up the ante with a strong colored handbag. You can get away with this as long as your dress is solid and your shoes don’t compete with the overall ensemble. Remember — booties are your friends. Think of them as complements to your outfits, not the focal point.

Wear Lace Up Boots Without Looking Like A Granny

I love booties…But am not so fond of skinny jeans (I never seem to find a flattering pair…surprise, surprise;-). So, beyond the dress with tights/leggings, how else can one wear booties and still let them show?
Try the Baggy jeans look( like Katie Holmes) with the roll up cuff! Or Fall Shorts with Thick Leggings, Even the New Latex leggings look fabulous with booties!
Do you think booties will look cute with a sexy costume with knee highs?
without a doubt. i have a black pair with a patent-capped round toe that work fabulously with knee highs. definitely hot!!
do you think you can wear booties with skinny jeans.
Or is that a bit odd?
I don’t see why not. Seems to me that it’s like wearing pumps with skinny jeans. But I’m wondering if the jeans don’t have to end just above the ankle…I’m having a hard time picturing the combination…
so that means, that it is a bit odd?
but if it ends just above the ankle it is good?
