Be Nice To Your Dry, Cracking Heels

I love flip flops and cute sandals as much as the next girl, but navigating city streets makes it tough to keep my feet in perfect shape.

I devised my own love-my-feet routine, and it worked so well, I thought I’d share.

Ped Egg

Start by sloughing away dead skin with the infomercial hit, the Ped Egg Pedicure Foot File ($4).

Flexitol

After your feet are smooth, apply the drugstore favorite, Flexitol Heel Balm ($9).

Then cover your feet with a H20’s Moisture Therapy Socks ($18) for at least 15 minutes. On days when my feet are extra dry, I’ve warmed the sock in the microwave for extra oomph and then worn the socks overnight.

And get a break from your party heels at the end of the night with comfy slip-on (cab-friendly) flats.

I recently tried the ped egg after getting it as a gift a few months ago, and let me tell you… THAT THING IS AMAZING!!! I wasn’t in a big rush to use it because my feet aren’t in too bad of shape and I didn’t think it would really work, but I was so wrong. I used it on a hard patch of skin that I’d developed at the ball of my foot and then put lotion on, and the next morning my feet felt so much smoother! Sooo glad I tried it :)

Ooh, I tried that once. Didn’t have bad heels – just a little dry (AZ dries your skin out). Got carried away. Heels were really soft when I finished. Then my heels started hurting. It took a week and two days for my heels to heal. Then I got the real surprise – when the skin grew back – it was thick and hard. I had created a problem where there was NONE! I did figure out how to repair the problem – I will be posting tips on how to make your heels soft again on my site in a few days.
